A Letter To My Husband On His Birthday

Dear Chris,

Twelve. Twelve is the number of birthdays we have celebrated together. That's about a third of our lives! I love sharing this journey as we grow as husband and wife and as parents together. We compliment each other so well it's scary at times.

There is something you must know. Something I always think but may not say. Something I know you haven't heard much of in your short thirty-three years. I want you to know that I'm proud of you

You, my dear Christopher, enrich the lives of others knowing very well they may not do the same in return, and most often than not they don't. As frustrating of a quality that is, it's also one that I love. You are the definition of self-less and this is why I love you.

You've always told me that you wanted a different life for your family and that you would do everything in your power to make that happen. I swear you must say that to yourself each night and the moment you wake up because it shows. You work extremely hard, sometimes even multiple jobs when it's hard to even find the time. Our kids don't know your struggles growing up and it's because of you that they won't have to. You put your children and me first to give us the world.

You are a fiercely motivated person. Your brain is always in hyper-drive and you don't let anything stop you. The world better watch out because in your world there is no time to be lazy. I'm not even sure you know what the word rest means.

You are the perfect father for our 3 amazing boys and the only one for me. You are the son my mom never had and the man my dad hoped his pumpkin pie would marry. You were perfectly made for us. We all love you too much!

XOXO,

Your Wife

Our Story

Welcome to I Solomonly Swear! I'm Sarah, the main author, where I share our life with boys and living intentionally.  Chris, my husband, and I live a little differently than most our age. From the moment we started dating we knew quickly that we wanted to get married, buy a house, and start a family together. We met when we were 21 and married at 24. We traded going out and hanging with friends for working hard and intentionally setting up a life we could be proud of.

A short 12 years later, we have owned 2 homes and in a few days a 3rd in a different state. We are moving from Illinois to Tennessee for various reasons and as you read our blog you'll come to find out why. We are into doing things ourselves, although difficult at times it can also be very rewarding. Our blog will be full of do-it-yourself ideas, lots of beauty tips since I'm a cosmetologist/makeup artist, loads of recipes because who doesn't like a good recipe, plus how we are living with intention and raising our boys to be good men someday.

Thank you for taking the time to read our little blog! We are excited to have you join us on our journey.
