A Letter To My Husband On His Birthday

Dear Chris,

Twelve. Twelve is the number of birthdays we have celebrated together. That's about a third of our lives! I love sharing this journey as we grow as husband and wife and as parents together. We compliment each other so well it's scary at times.

There is something you must know. Something I always think but may not say. Something I know you haven't heard much of in your short thirty-three years. I want you to know that I'm proud of you

You, my dear Christopher, enrich the lives of others knowing very well they may not do the same in return, and most often than not they don't. As frustrating of a quality that is, it's also one that I love. You are the definition of self-less and this is why I love you.

You've always told me that you wanted a different life for your family and that you would do everything in your power to make that happen. I swear you must say that to yourself each night and the moment you wake up because it shows. You work extremely hard, sometimes even multiple jobs when it's hard to even find the time. Our kids don't know your struggles growing up and it's because of you that they won't have to. You put your children and me first to give us the world.

You are a fiercely motivated person. Your brain is always in hyper-drive and you don't let anything stop you. The world better watch out because in your world there is no time to be lazy. I'm not even sure you know what the word rest means.

You are the perfect father for our 3 amazing boys and the only one for me. You are the son my mom never had and the man my dad hoped his pumpkin pie would marry. You were perfectly made for us. We all love you too much!

XOXO,

Your Wife
